A friend of mine had PF and got shots and felt great within a few days. Modern medicine is pretty cool at times.
I've also had cortisone shots for PF and they were very successful. But i was pretty cautious after since i heard that you can feel great for a few days but have it come roaring back.
Why would he have done a "22 mile long run" or "10 miles of intervals" between now and a hard half marathon 2 weeks ago with an injured foot? That just doesn't make a bit if sense to me, but I'm just a regular 2:32 guy. Can someone explain this to me?
He looks like a little girl in that photo. Long-term microdosing has stunted his growth and fvcked with his test. Poor guy.
Truly surprised Rupp would ever resort to an injection

A) because that is coming down in distance for someone of his training volume
B) because if he was unable to do those pain-free, he would have just scratched from the race
A totally legal steroid injection. Makes me sick.
Just curious, how are cortisone shots legal in competitive running? They are literally a strong anabolic steroid. How is this legal?

I bet he ran a bunch of 5x18s to prepare

This is probably the same extreme Kenacort/Kenalog cortisone injection Bradley Wiggins kept taking which convicted dopers have said it was the most potent drug they have ever taken, better than EPO.
Nothing anabolic about cortisone at all. I'm pretty sure it actually has the opposite effect.

Hahahaha! Though they are a steroid, they are if anything more catabolic than anabolic. Mostly, corticosteroids are used as an anti-inflammatory. I'd sincerely appreciate were you to stop speaking with authority when it's apparent that you are ill informed.
https://www.verywell.com/anabolic-steroids-corticosteroids-difference-190456Would you rather he scratch and not run due to injury? It's a perfectly legal supplement, and as a track fan looking forward to this for months, I don't really care what he takes as long as he runs Monday.
Good interview. Glad to hear that he got the shot. Ensures that he won't be a DNS! Plantar fasciitis is a beast.
Agree with above. Wrong type of steroid...cortisone shots are not an anabolic steroid. They have antiinflammatory effect but
cause muscle wasting, not growth.
But still banned In-Competition

Cortisone isn't anabolic, it's catabolic meaning it helps break tissue down. Why it isn't banned, is another question. I think it requires a TUE at least.
That zoomed in picture made me cringe
Suddenly pain-free? A simple injection fixes a deep tissue injury? Since when? Something is amiss with this story.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
