Have you found compression full-length tights to be effective for recovery when wearing them to sleep?
If so, what have been the best ones you've found?

I have been a recovery guy since my days standing in the cath lab before compression socks ever became popular. I was also with 2XU for many many years so I had an abundance of tights as well.
I don't find a lot of benefit to the tights myself. For them to be somewhat effective they take too long to put on. If they are that hard to put on, they are hard to sleep in. I had a pair of Zoot like this way back in 2008 like this. Socks are ok for traveling but after really learning to embrace the active squeezing of Normatec Recovery Boots it just isn't even worth the socks or tights IMO. A 20 minute session in boots is going to be far more effective than any tights and boots.
Have you thought about boots at all? I realize many people get scared off by the price of Normatec boots. After spending over a year now in Air Relax they are a great alternative for those not looking to shell out ($1395) - Normatec actually just dropped their price by $100 last week. I wrote a short comparison of the two here if interested:
