Personally, I feel if they are going to keep a race walk event it should be the 50k and not the 20k but I'm not complaining too much as it brings me closer to the elimination of it entirely.

This is great news. The general population might respect our sport a bit more now.
This is the result of lrc trolls relentlessly bashing race walking.
Next, the triple jump.
then the 10000m - what a waste of time. The marathon at the Olympics is usually second-rate as well (majors are better), so that too should go the way of the dodo. The 1500 should be changed to the mile. Get rid of field events as no one really cares about them anyway, In fact the only 2 events should be the 100m and the mile. Those are the only events that have any meaning in the sport anyway.
Good news. Race walking is like is olympic swimming had a "who could doggie paddle the longest" event.
What about pole vault? Those poles are a safety hazard. After I posted that thread about how people transport vaulting poles, I asked a guy on my team about it and he started chasing me with the pole. I got away though,.

...or, who can swim backwards the fastest. RIDICULOUS
The only track events should be the 800, 1500, 3,000, and 5,000.
No hurdles, no long, boring 10,000, and no partial track races like the 100, 200 and the full track 400 where wind and lane positions can be too much of a factor and riddled with annoying false starts and with many cases of endless posturing by self-loving roided-up thugs.
The field events should be the long jump and the high jump. I want to see how high and how long a human can jump.
Maybe throw in shot put and javelin for throwing events. The ability to throw is important. Javelin is just cool.

The 100 is so short it's hardly worth watching. And the mile is just a white man nostalgia race, nothing interesting has happened in it since the 50's. We should just stop wasting our time and get rid of athletics!
Its not right that they cut the 50 km race walk. They should have got rid of all the strokes in swimming except for free style before looking at race walking. Or got rid of garbage like light weight rowing or all the different sailing boat classes. Bunch of corrupt morons.
I will not be watching the next Olympics and I did not follow the last 2 Olympics anyway because of the doping.
Everyone who wants to start at Olympic events should have to wear a camera 24/7 so we can check for doping.

Just get rid of the track and put a basketball court there.
And ban all runners, which is the way it's heading anyway.
The Germans call it gehen and it is. No 50K olympic walk (run) and no 50K ultra world champs. Happy days.
The MOSW will certainly appeal this decision:
Of course, they have recourse if the appeal fails:
Funny thing is, these Olympic race walkers can walk faster than most of Letsrun users can run.
Track 10k is also on the chopping block.

And that might explain a lot of the reaction. No one's forced to watch the walks.
