I agree that Musk is a charlatan.
However, there really isn't substantially more risk with EVs than with ICE vehicles. Gasoline is extremely flammable and when there is a ICE car-b-que the fire department still approaches it as an extremely hazardous, toxic and explosive situation. Gasoline will ignite at about 550F depending on conditions and it contains a lot of energy. Exploding tires, bumpers, ammo in trunks, etc. are risks present when fighting any vehicle fire.
