Hewlett was 100% in on it, and refuses to answer any messages. He reads them and ignores.
Looking more and more likely it could even have been HIS idea, to get publicity for himself as photographer to a world record holder.

I've noticed Mark scrubbed any mention of Dave from his Facebook page. However, he forgot to clean his Twitter.

How did that approach work with the Bournemouth Marathon DQ?

Yep and notice how Mark-Hewlett's-Twitter doesn't have one tweet about running until 24 July 16 (copy below), then it starts with one on Chas Allen's DuneRunner followed by three in August and one on 20 Sep 16 then starting on the 22 Sep 16 a couple on Dave's upcoming lejog2017.
But then low and behold, when Mark-and-Dave got really serious, the first article written by Mark-Hewlett appeared on 26 Oct 2016 (link below), followed by their own Facebook site, more articles, etc, etc and around the same time Nicky Gilkes from Mattressman came on board.
"Mark Hewlett†@PhotoHewlett · 24 Jul 2016
Great day shooting for @DuneRunnerRaces today. Fantastic people in a lovely part of the world"

Dave is an Ultra-running expert.
Dave stated in an article that his Ultra-running is more of a military exercise than a running exercise.
Dave stated in an article that an Ultra-Run very similar to a TAB (Tactical Advance into Battle = Walking towards the enemy for a big Ultra-battle.)
Here is a photo by Mark Hewlett of Terrie and Joe the driver watching Brit Dave Reading's Tactical Advance Into Battle (TAB) Ultra-Run Military Exercise:

Hey Brits.
Please stop it.
Can we just establish it's not about Brits or Americans. Kaiha in prison is she. No? Americans wishing her well on trail sites? Of course they are.
Let's be frank it's not about nationality it's about whether you are a sportsman or think ultra is about personal challenge. Generally challenge crew will forgive and forget as they thinknothing has been stolen as it's only cheating themselves. Sports people, which the majority in here are, think it's disgusting.
There is a third group, namely sports people who's income is derived from challenge types. Many of these stay silent to avoid offending their customers.

You are exactly correct.
The CEP company that make Dave's stupid compression socks have been completely silent.

Hi Robbie. Hi Charlie.
Hey Sir SlowMo Farah.
Please take that Brit flag down right now!!!
Hey Brits.
Please stop it.
I am not kidding.
WTF, how come no one's coming to the defence of Dave?, they're all ducking for cover, lying low and deleting every reference to him they can think of.
FMD, even "he's" wife Terrie has disowned him and gone in to total internet wipe out and shutdown.
"He's" wife Terrie was fully on board not long ago, although surreptitiously:
Changed her tune since this facebook post

Right this man here my husband is a human machine .... he WILL keep going no matter what and I have never been prouder!! In less than 8 weeks time he will attempt to Break the men's world Record running 836 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats, the current record has been held for 14 years and is 9 days 2 hours and 26 minutes. Whether he breaks the record or not (he will) he WILL make it to John O'Groats! He deserves every ounce of support he gets! And more, in my opinion he does not get any where near enough acknowledgement for what he does and is doing! So please show Dave Reading some love and donate to our wonderful charity Walking With The Wounded. Like and share our Facebook page and just show you support what he is doing. Thank you much love
We got the first news article mentioning Dave Reading's fraudulent LEJOG:
https://inews.co.uk/essentials/sport/karl-meltzers-feet-give-us-painful-truth-toughness-achieving-fastest-known-time/Its relative popularity has led to some seeking short-cuts. In the past year alone there have been three Britons who have raised eyebrows.
Robert Young vehemently denied cheating in his well-sponsored attempt to run across America (his support vehicle travelling at 6mph with no visible runner beside – and the way Young fell apart rapidly when he was joined by an observer – made many people’s minds up).
Mark Vaz was equally vocal about the veracity of his frankly impossibly short time to travel on foot from Land’s End to John O’Groats, despite the plethora of sweat-free selfies.
And just last week Dave Reading came in for a ton of online abuse when he claimed he was about to attempt the UK traverse for charity, despite having little pedigree as a distance runner.

I think one point of discussion that we have kind of glossed over is about the 8 kids of Dave and Terrie and how they are all home schooled. With what we know about Dave and Terrie and their scam posse, I have a hard time believing that the kids are actually being taught anything at home. What are the test standards for at home schooled children in Britain? Are there any checks done to determine if the kids are actually learning?
I heard that the second oldest boy is a formidable pick pocket.
Can't learn that skill in a state funded school.
Just putting it out there after reading that but could it be that the wife was being duped too?

Shite Hawk wrote:The only complete run that our Dave did without cheating was the one between the two Sportlink shops. This was Joe's first drive with them. Thereafter, our Dave used to do 50 miles at a time, riding in the van, hopping out only to do a piece-to-camera. Mark and Joe were fully in on this, not innocent as I initially said. There were buckets that were opened from the London run, by "he's" wife, namely the lovely Terrie.
You made a fool of me! I believed you when you said Mark and Joe were innocent! I should have listened to the damn trolls. So how did you realize they were fully in on the scam?
This means that the known culprits of this scam are now: Dave, Terrie, Mark, Joe
And highly suspect: Nicky from Mattressman
Dave and Mark are buddies from way back. The free fall and broken back is probably exaggerated bullshit just like Dave's exploits and other bullshit, they're both a pair of Walter Mitty's in on the scam together for their own own ends.
"His buddy and former colleague, on this trip following his progress from the van on camera for social media, broke his back when he decided not to let off his emergency parachute because he knew that the flying pack from the first parachute which ejects may hit his friends above him. He chose to take his chances on a free fall, and broke his back instead.
So yes, what to do after all of that. Well of course escaping death, then trauma in hospital, long slow rehabilitation, followed by a loss at what to do with your life next, is a somewhat thorny road for a young man."
http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/views/now-is-the-perfect-time-to-spring-from-your-sofa-and-get-your-life-in-order-1-4960109And the author who picked up a few quid for that poorly researched, bullshit believing piece isn't even a proper journalist.
"Are you currently in training for a local running event in Norwich or looking for a yoga class to supplement your running hobby? Or are you in need of some help with your endurance both physically and mentally? Running and yoga, indeed yoga and running, are the perfect combination. YogaBuds yoga teacher Jackie Heffer-Cooke explains all…"

Yeah and like Dave he's had a name change too.
And weren't they planning a Kenya trip?, there's the Kenya connection in this too:
"An Army officer survived falling 3,500 feet from an aircraft after his parachute failed to open properly during a training exercise.
he crashed through the corrugated iron roof of a house in a shanty town in eastern Kenya.
The 25-year-old officer, who was making only his third parachute jump, cracked three vertebrae in the lower part of his back"

haha you'd think if you survived a free fall it would be on the net somewhere just like the fella above in kenya ffs theres only been a couple
I'm calling bullshit
Whoah, that's some good sleuthing about Mark Hewlett's background. So the question now becomes did Mark:[1] Change his name from Charlie Williams and lied about what really caused him to fall. Or[2] Did Mark Hewlett totally steal this story from the real Charlie Williams and is an imposter.Either way, it doesn't look good.
