He couldn't run after dark because there was an extra firm mattress in the RV, on which sausage could be consumed.

keep off the moors. Stay on the road. Good luck to you.
I think he will pass near to where i live on either Sunday or Monday.
I will try to get a picture of him running which no one has ever seen before.
Technically he is running in these 2016 VLM photos

Is anyone else planning to see him? Do we know what the van looks like so we can identify it?
A picture of him and the van on twitter today. Its a white transit with 01603 Norwich number on the side.
Day 2 and he has already traveled 11 miles in the van. There is no chance for him to complete a point to point LEJOG unless he goes back and starts over. He's also now off route. He's officially just a guy wandering the UK on foot and by van with a kid on a bike. Which is a much more reasonable goal for him. And what we thought he would do from the beginning.

If he's going to get in the van every time there is a bit of traffic or roadworks he's going to be spending a lot of time in the van.
But I guess that's all part of the plan. The way he's heading now he's heading for Dartmoor which could be fun. Lots of very steep hills. Relentless and grinding.

I can just imagine Dave laying back on that cozy mattress gobbling sausages after the long walk on country lanes. He's probably also thanking his lucky stars that they "canceled" the "world record smash" before it "started." He must have learned from Rob that that extra scrutiny would tip the scales against him. Now he only has to physically finish and he can call himself a success and pass the scrutiny onto the future.
Reading this thread... so.... FANTASTICAL:

Does he really think that if he changes his route (regardless of the reason) that somehow he no longer has to travel the entire route on foot?
Dave - when you run across the Island, from point A to B, you can't catch a ride for part of it, no matter what route you've chosen, or else you just haven't gone form point A to B on foot. Go back and start over or all you can say is that you've gone from Point A to B on foot and by van.
Prediction time: quits at Bridgwater on Tuesday.
Boots on the ground!
WE NEED BOOTS ON THE GROUND!
It appears his earlier 34 miles per hour pace this morning has taken it's toll...looking in his tracker he appears to be currently travelling at 0.62MPH.
I'm assuming he's stopped in the layby to refuel...at this rate he won't hit 100 miles for the two days!

I can see the Letsrun headline - "Trouble Over Bridgwater"
In other news, he is fast approaching the Cornwall/Devon border, customs to negotiate.
According to his video on FB they drove 11 miles. The tracker shows 25 miles in 6 hours. Does this mean he has only done 14 miles in 6 hours?
This is going to be a long trip.
So with his pro photographer onboard, why are we not getting and pictures or videos of Dave walking/running on the route? Surely they know how to upload? Surely they are taking lots of pictures and videos every mile to show Dave is actually on the road?

You've forgotten the old RY 'weak satellite signal' ruse.

Game over - he quit when he drove 11 miles in the van this morning.
No world record
It's not even a LEJOG anymore
The photographer is there to take compromising pictures of the intern on the ultra-firm mattress, and then blackmail him so he won't blow the whistle on the cheating.
Yesterday's Mission: SMASH WORLD RECORD
Today's Mission: WALK SLOWLY UNTIL IT BECOMES INCONVENIENT - THEN RIDE IN A VAN
