It's ludicrous speed mode.

Dave has now went forward 11 miles in 19 miles from where the tracker started with a max speed of 68 mph. It looks like maybe they stopped the blatant cheating for now?
*11 miles in 19 minutes

Oh boy. They are looking for the nearest International House of Pancakes (iHop)…to get syrup for Dave.
Dave does not look like he is the fastest land animal on planet earth.
Why was Day 1 only 3 to 4 mph?
Dave is going to need a big breakfast with pancakes and syrup.
Are they actually that dumb to so blatantly cheat like this? Surely they can't be THAT dumb, can they?

Off course too!
Where are you seeing the actual MPH? I'm being thick and can't see that, only the mileage, that has gone from 49 to 60 in just a few mins!

Ah, found it. Currently 62 MPH!
In the Details tab there is a speed gauge and history graph of speed. The speed gauge showed 68 mph but the history graph doesn't show it because it is so ludicrous and off the charts.

there will be a perfectly good reason for it.
...the van got a flat so we sent Dave ahead without the tracker while we changed the tyre and we were just catching up to him.
lying is second nature to these people. i it wont be hard to explain it away.

I recommend taking a screenshot of the speed gauge since 62 mph won't show up in the history speed graph since it is so high.

Just did that! :)))))

Why not?
Robbie was that stupid.
Dave has no idea what he is doing…and everyone is watching!
If they are driving somewhere for breakfast, he needs to go back and start running from where he stopped on Day 1.
Hey Dave and Terrie.
Driving in a van (or RV) is not allowed in Ultrarunning World Records set in the United States.
Is it allowed in Britain?
Looking at the facts of this I would think that it's clear he is a bit of a fantasist. Whilst I cannot comment with any authority as to what his work history is and therefore will give him the benefit of the doubt, I have very serious reservations about his running ability as he doesn't have the sort of pedigree of a runner who could set a LEJOG world record. Furthermore in my experience there is now way that anyone can run London Marathon, cross the start line, have their timing chip fail to register at EVERY timing mat except the last one. Added to that there, are zero photos of him actually running on the course with the exception of the final mile.
To me it would appear he crossed the start line. Ducked off the course before the 5k timing mat and then popped on again several hours later running the last mile or so. As a runner who's ran London on several occasions in the past I cannot see any other explanation for the missing timing mats and lack of on course photos.
Whilst some may say "It doesn't matter, he's doing it for charity" my answer is simple, gaining money and services by deception can be seen as fraud.
I am not saying that this is a case of fraud so please do not see this as an accusation of anything other than course cutting at London Marathon and being a bit of a fantasist (I don't have all the facts so cannot comment on anything else).
There are cases of ex-servicemen who set-up charities to fund their recreational running so being an serviceman doesn't warrant him or anyone else extra special benefits. Here is a recent case where one such type ended up doing a prison stretch for fraud.
We should forward that BBC story to Nicky at Mattressman and to Dave.
Looks like they've stopped for the past 25 minutes in the middle of nowhere after their high speed joy ride.
11 miles in 29 minutes. Just shows the benefits of a good night's sleep.
gotta be rhe mattress.

It was more like 11 miles in 15 minutes because they were stopped most of that time. They are now back to a more reasonable 4.2 mph. Maybe they had second thoughts about cheating?

Dave is in big trouble at the start of Day 2.
He might be hypoglycemic, tired, sleepy, sore, irritable, hungry, depressed, anxious, and …in a panic attack now.
He is not thinking clearly.
His delusional mind has seen his thoughts very quickly go from "I will be famous when I run the London Marathon this year as the WORLD RECORD HOLDER for an 837 Mile Ultrarun…to…"There is NO WAY I can do this!"…
What is Dave going to do now?
Panic.
lol...just checked out the 'All Time Speed' on his tracking page...

Maybe I was wrong about his running pedigree, he started the day running at nearly 34 mile per hour.! FFS - makes the 6 mile tempo run at 06:55/mi I did last night look positively pedestrian. With that sort of speed endurance I'm tipping him for a gold at the next Olympic marathon.
