Rigid wrote:Fact: Dave actually ran 4:19 at the 2016 London Marathon
I think that this is far from being a fact given the missed timimg mats and only photos of him being from Parliament Square to the finish.
I agree that the 4:19 is highly questionable but I'm giving Dave the benefit of the doubt, which I think is extremely generous, until London pulls him from their results. I think that's standard practice. Good point though.

Funny how you only pick up the negatives and ignore the positives.
Dave made the decision to stop at 62 miles... WHY? You must have read why surely. It was January not Feb as you said in an earlier post. Can't you idiots read! They stopped because of bad weather conditions. Freezing ice, poor vision! Again safety first! Nothing wrong with that especially when he clearly had he's 14 year old son with him! So many things on this forum are wrong and all information is visible on website and social media pages! Funny that! You people lie more than the whole of the UK let alone Dave! Your a joke!
There are numerous winter ultras. A bit of cold doesnt stop the runners. In his country there is one of the toughest races on earth, The Spine race. 268 miles non stop from England to scotland in January. They dont stop at 62 miles because its cold.
Dave was looking to become world champion remember, yet had to stop at 62 miles on a run because he was cold!

Who the feck cares it's a marathon, maybe he got it wrong, maybe he exaggerated a bit, maybe he's timing chip really didn't work like many others didn't on that day. Have you checked every single runner? I doubt it! You should, you to seem to all have a lot of time on your hands. Go see to your wife's maybe you'll feel better! Learn to read! It was an attempt! Attempt! Attempt! Look up the word attempt! And now it's not, he can do what he likes and certainly has no need to answer your questions, or to prove any thing to the Likes of you!

I know that you will laugh contemptuously at this - at first but I have seen about a million threads.

Yes, we have a lot of time on our hands. If you knew the first thing about runners, you'd know that we're detail oriented...and we love it. Deal with it! 😈
Actual runners care about the integrity of the sport, and your husband is going to get roasted. You could always repent and spare the lifelong embarrassment, but I'm 100% calling it that that's not in your DNA.
Terrie, can you explain how Dave literally "ran" the AJ Bell London Triathlon in 2015?

Actual runners care about the integrity of the sport? Are you kidding me! Actual runners care about winning. They care about medals. They care about records. They care about sponsorship. The only people who care about integrity are hobby joggers who worry more about balancing their quinoa per mile ratio than they do about smashing strava segments.
No need to check all the other runners. Dave crossed the line with runners over 4 hours, and they did go over the mats. He ran over an hour slower than he repeatedly said, and given the bloody big clock over the finish line, and his own watch he knows he was is lying to the person he called his coach, to the RAF Association, to a double amputee who does genuine ultras, to sponsors, to those he is asking for donations etc. Makes him a dishonest person, so should we trust he is going to do all of this walk?
Oh, and is he dumb or what? He kept saying he would run for 20 hours a day, and now he needs to stop for safety at night instead. Did he not know that they have night time in Cornwall? He may be surprised to find it happens all over the UK, and for more than 4 hours a day.

I don't think it's a troll. I actually think it is Terrie because her writing style with grammatical errors is very similar to what is on their website/Facebook.

To be fair "smashing strava segments" is very hobby jogger centric.
But regarding the broad scope of your point hobby joggers are runners too. Amateur error. Elites are runners. Hobby joggers are runners. WTF cares? Back to the popcorn of this cheating debacle!

We do what we like and don't try to prove anything to anybody. That's why we don't advertise our runs and get sponsors and contact media and...
If you keep saying "look at me! look at me!", don't be offended when people look at you.
Dave was in the Royal Anglican Regiment from age 16 to 40. Dunno what he did in the RAR but he could have been a mechanic, cook or anything.
Dave is currently in the Royal Air Force Reserve. Dunno what he does in the RAF Reserve or how long he's been in it or what he does, I'm guessing it would be the same type of work he did in the RAR, I'm also guessing that he worked in a trade of some sort, and not infantry, and those trade skills are transferable to the RAF Reserve. Despite Dave telling Coach Neil that he'd done a 30 mile hike in combat gear that morning as part of his military training so was a bit tired for the afternoon session, there's not much demand for special forces/infantry types in the RAF Reserve and they would never do that sort of 30 mile hike anyway as part of their military training.
Dunno if Dave currently has other employment, maybe not, perhaps he just relies on his Reserve money, his wife's part-time job and the Government benefits he gets for his eight kids, these benefits would be substantial. In fact in many cases of large families it's not worth the parents earning too much because it reduces their benefits and means they're actually working for nothing or even less. This is the UK social security system at work.
Anything involving Dave seems to raise many questions.
Again taken all the negs ignored the pos! It was more than cold! And it was off road! Again can't you read? And he had a 14 year old boy with him!
You people like questions right? I've got one for ya? It's daytime now in America right? And I presume that like most when it's night time you go to bed right? So when do you get time to run? Or work?
Options you either don't work and live of food vouchers, you are a keyboard warrior by day and work at night ( but then when would you sleep or run). Or you are getting paid to be a keyboard warrior, yeah that's it isn't it, you Americans get paid to troll people. Nice one! Seriously though a whole week almost on this forum, did you quit your jobs to do this? And are now starving hungry, you'll have to go back to work soon or else you'll starve to death. And oh yeah when do you get time to run? So how much do they pay then for trollers! Because only trollers can't manage to comment on one positive thing! Oh and how do you know Dave was a TA engineer I am dying to see that proof

Might even be him! This person came online at a time when he would have stopped walking, had a shower in his nice funded hotel, then had a check of the internet to read all the posts on his page of "you are so inspirational, doing this all for charity". ie, the posts Terrie has left on his page after deleting all the questions we want answers to.
Some trolls are really good though!
Hi Robbie
Love how professional you are! I would have you would have better things to do.
I don't think Dave knows how to post. It's always his wife Terrie posting things. And if she is a troll, she is doing a darn good impersonation.
We quit our jobs and get paid by the Russians to bring your country down. The pay is really good too.
What is Daves's jib? Let me guess. Would you like an apple pie with that order?
What makes you think we are all in the States?
An ASHAMED Brit here, ashamed a KNOB like your husband is making this country look bad.
His run was "off road" you say! Well what do you think the Spine ultra is? A jog along a tarmac road? REAL ultra runners ALL run off road you plank.
He stopped at 62 miles into a run (that was probably walked or fake anyway), as "he was cold" ! LOL
14 year old boys have gone to war in the past. And no one FORCED him to take a teenager with him did they?
He's told us so many lies about his work background that how are we expected to know the truth? He was NOT an infantry soldier for sure.
We can easily find out from the Walter Mitty people exactly what he did in the forces, and that did NOT involve being infantry.
No one on here is "paid" to ask questions! You are bat shit crazy Terrie.
Go and see to your 17 kids, and dont forget to collect your benefits money tomorrow, you sad benefits mum, LOL!

You realize runners run in the cold all the time, right? If Dave actually ran, he would have generated body heat to keep warm under all those layers of clothing he wears.
And I don't for one second believe your boy ever did cycle 100 miles in a day, EVER! That is the kind of distance professional cyclists do on road bikes let alone a kid on a cheap mountain bike going 4 mph.
