you were duped Neil Royal Air Force Reservists don't do 30 mile hikes in combat gear as part of their military training.
This blokes a major fantasist and plonker puller, RAF regular or reserves don't do that sort of training, even RAF Regiment, that's special forces stuff and he ain't special anything.
30 mile hike in combat gear as part of military training then in the afternoon a training session, haha who's he kidding. He's pulling your plonker, wouldn't feel too bad though, seems you're not the only one.

And you were trolled as well. Damn you guys are stupid.
Only about 5 hours to go before the 07:00 British start time for Dave's cross country run! And we can follow their RV! Aren't you excited?

Tracker up and ready to rock and roll too!
https://www.followmychallenge.com/live/DaveReading/LEJOG/Let's predict his mileage. Day one he might go for 30 miles, but I predict he won't finish as it would take him weeks!
It all depends if he rides in the RV. But he is already registered for the London Marathon 2017 in less than 3 weeks time so it's not like he has time to waste.

Why is no one addressing the elephant in the room? With wife and 8 children still at home, how does David Reading have the time and resources for this folly IMHO? If I had 8 kids at home I would be working two full-time jobs just to maintain a semblance of modest living. How does David Reading do it financially?
Does the David Reading family get Govt. assistance? If so, how much? And from what sources? Can an RAF reservist support 8 kids adequately without Govt. assistance?
Wouldn't it be better/more productive for an actual walking wounded do this attempt? Wouldn't that generate more support for the charity than someone like David Reading?
Finally, would David Reading now be considered a public figure in Britain?

It's 16 days to London marathon, so he has no chance! 15 days to run as he'd need the Saturday to travel to London.
If that tracker starts doing 100 mile days we'll know it's hitching a ride!
Reposted from elsewhere by the winningest ultrarunner in history (yeah, that's a thing) and veteran multiday runner.
Some additional info:
As an aside, the runs just referenced at ATY were in pretty good conditions with easy aid access to boot .
As far as 836 miles in 9 (or 10) days, Ashprihanal (Pekka) Aalto won the SC 10 day two years ago leading up to his record setting 3100 (40d 9hrs; 76.6 miles / day), with ~833 miles, less than our charity runners intends to run even if we grant him the extra 23:59 hrs.
Not sure he has enough time in general. No way this guy could be 49...he looks about 65 to me. Is that really his age or is he trolling us?

I wonder if he is a Catholic Christian since that sect of Christianity prohibits birth control. Shouldn't there be some legal limit on the number of kids you can have? Otherwise, it just strains taxpayers. 2 or 3 kids can be normal. 4 kids in fringe cases. But 8 kids is making a mockery.
Sadly 24 hour runs have the potential to be hit or miss. Some of the 24 hour runs have stopped doing live lap tracking after screenshots surfaced awhile ago of things like under 10 second 400 meters being run in the middle of the night. Whether those were oversights or simple mistakes that were corrected versus something more isn't clear but it happened on several occasions so unfortunately that does exist for whatever reason innocuous or not in some timed fixed course events.

Momentary blips are understandable, but if the majority of that run is like that or if the data as a whole does not pass statistical analysis, then we know it's just cheating. Either that or America has declared war on the British and is screwing with the GPS signals in preparation for aerial bombardments

londons definitely off if hes running/walking at least he won't have to worry about pesky photographers
The RV tracker is live all you basement dwellers! The timer is already showing 10 minutes with zero movement.
RV engine problems?
22 minutes and no distance data available.
Should be at least 21/2 miles.
I think they turned the tracker off. Maybe their conscience is telling them that what they did was wrong and they will now apologize?
oh shit the trackers been paused
