They are different in that if you run 200s on a track, you won't begin your workout by breaking your teeth as you try to step onto a treadmill belt that's moving 18mph.
I won't run short fast repeats on a treadmill. The stopping and starting the repeat is not good for the body if the pace is really fast, like 200's.
