I HAD same question someone smart please tackle this!!!!!!!
It's much more of a mental thing than it is an actuality. The purpose of tights is to not constrict your range of motion and because of this, 3/4 length tights are not detrimental to your knee extension. That said, I would opt for the half tights, but that is purely personal preference. The length of your tights is not going to make or break your race.

If you don’t have lower leg problems...half tights rule for the 800m & less. And skinny bird-legs look better in distance shorts while bigger legs look awesome in tights...😎.
