I'm a junior male and I am running a track 5k later this week. I think I might be able to barely break 18, but I think I will need to push myself harder than I ever have before.
Based on this workout, what are my chances?
3x1600 (60-80 sec rest w/ 100 jog), 2x400 (400 jog rest), 1x1600.
I ran 6:23, 6:22, 6:19, 80, 82, 6:13. It did not feel very hard. The 3rd and 4th 1600s were a little hard, but still very controlled and I felt fine afterwards. I think I could've gone faster on the 400s. It was also pretty hot (75-80ish) and kinda windy on the backstretch.
