Since I can't afford a couch, I'm trying to plan for the foreseeable future. Obviously, we all know Daniels' plans are 24 weeks; four 6 week phases. That's all well and good. So two full phases can fit in a year with four weeks to spare. Now my problem is that I don't know how to set up the training plans such that they align with what I want.
Where I live, there's a summer long week track meet series that offers 400m - mile races with the 1500m being replaced with a 5000m at the end of each month. My goal is for spring and fall to be the primary racing seasons and treat the summer series the same as collegiate indoor. My problem is figuring out when to start each training cycle. The plans I world follow would be the 5k/10k Daniels' training plans.
If you guys could give me some advice that'd be great since I'm at a loss. Currently I would have virtually all of winter be base training, adding on the extra four weeks here to make it ten weeks, and then combining the summer series with the first two phases of the second training plan. However, this seems like I'm doing something wrong but I'm not sure how
