195 lbs for the 1500 and 115 for XC .
Works for me .
Give it a go !
Harold Norpoth - 6'1 and 137 pounds. Ideal.
Anthony Sandoval - 5'8. 120 pounds. Ideal.
It depends on the person. Some 6 feet tall people just have a bigger frame and 165 might be ideal, especially for the 1500. Other people are naturally thinner and 145 or so might be ideal.
You'll definitely start to suffer much quicker as your drop below your ideal weight than when you go above it. So if 150 is your "ideal" weight, you will be much slower at 140 than you will be at 160.
5'6" 185lbs. 35 y.o. ran 16:48 last week. Happy.

Why are you midgets commenting in here? Clearly this is a place for 6+ footers only.
Using 5' 7"-120 pound (ideal weight to height ratio) vs Ryan Hall at his peak of 5' 11"-137 I came up with this.
Hall was 4 inches taller and 17 pounds heavier. That would be a difference of 4.25 pounds per inch.
*6 feet 141.25 pounds. Plus or minus 0.6.*
This weight could also make make you sick and get you injured.
Best way to figure it out is running high mileage. Weight will fall into place naturally.
*I could be completely wrong and just have nothing better to do with my time at work.*
I am also 6 ft and 160. In my competitive days I was in the 152-155 range and that seemed good for me. I always feel like I could stand to lose 5 lbs but don't really fret over it anymore.

That's actually pretty damn impressive. Can you give more insight about how you did that and what your training/lifting is like?
The best running weight is the one that lets you run the fastest for what you are training for..
