bump - anyone else looking into this?
It's threads like this that keep me on LetsRun. This is hilarious stuff.
These people obviously have a mental disorder. He's from Ohio so he's probably been drinking the tap water, that explains half of it.
Here we go again!
Okay, I've had some time this morning to look a little further into this guy. He's an interesting character. Full of eye-opening quotes such as, "I will eat a large pizza every night of my 100 marathons in 100 days. I try to find a healthier crust, limit the cheese and triple the chicken for protein."
He says his marathon PR was Chicago, "about ten years ago." I looked at the results from around that period and found two Kevin Kellys in 2005, one aged 27 (3:20:09) and one 28 (3:58:59). Maybe someone can look a little further into that. I think he's run the Vermont Marathon as well.
This video is interesting - lots of shots of him running, and he's a big guy. Nothing at all against overweight people, but the guy has a lot of excess fat and states he's running 182 miles weekly: something doesn't fit. I'll leave it at that.

Here's his Periscope account, in which can be found many short videos documenting his progress running a marathon a day. You don't need an account; just click on any video to view it:
I actually think he is legit. He says he eats 6,500 calories a day. He posted where he was all the time and invited people to join him. #HatersGoingToHate

I ran a sub 2 marathon because I eat 5,000 calories a day and posted it on twitter so it has to be true. You are gullible.

1) He's not 6'7
2) He hasn't ran even 10 marathons
3) Business consultant = he is unemployed
4) He hasn't helped grow anything.
GUYS, I figured it out.
When he said he was going to eat a large pizza and do a marathon every day, he meant a NETFLIX Marathon! C'mon guys quit twisting his words.

I was reading this blog. Here's the best quote so far:
I ran my first 100 in under 19 hours. There was a time, around 5am Saturday, when I thought I was done. The pain was severe. I laid down for a few minutes, thinking I could not take another step. I got back up, and ran another 70+ miles.
Remember, this is a 6'7", 250 lb guy.
Right above that, "My training went decent but not great. I put in 20 thirty plus mile training runs over 4 months." That is "decent"? Every weekend, bang out a 50k and that is only decent? What a fraud. Let me guess, no can figure out tough cel phone Strava GPS, me no understand.
I want to meet some of the dumb people who donated to this fat scammer. I'm curious as to just how dumb someone has to be too think this fat guy could run anywhere.

Hi KP!
Well he did say he hit the "struggle bus" after 2000 miles. Makes sense to me
His last marathon, his 100th in a row, was a 100 mile marathon. 100 miles! Now that's a real marathon, unlike the typical easy little 26.2 mile marathon. You can tell this guy is the real deal because he goes out and does real marathon distances, 100 mile marathons, and he does them after already running 99 of the easy regular marathons.
I'm pretty jealous. I bumped up my mileage this month and I'm now having shin problems again (MTSS). I always have a hard time increasing my mileage. And, what's worse, I've only run 50 miles this week so far.
This guy is a true running inspiration. This big fat unathletic dude cranks out 100 marathons in a row, including a 100 mile marathon - without injury - and I can't even bump up to a 70 mile week without shin issues.
I don't know if it's a scam. It might be, of course, but Eddie Izzard ran 43 marathons in 50 days while crossing the length of Great Britain, and he was not known for his athleticism (to say the least). It's one thing to run them in 3-4 hours and another thing entirely to do them in 5-6.
So, maybe.
From the article:
“The way I help charities is I run social media ads for them for a day,â€
Brilliant! He doesn't have to give a dime of the money to the charity. People give him money to support charity, and he tweets about the charity. Job done.
This man is a genius. He's found a way to not work, run a few hours in the afternoon (2 to 6 pm according to the article), get paid, and have people tell him he's great.
Winning!
