No, I forgot to fast and ate breakfast 90 minutes before the test. Even so my glucose was 83, which is in the normal fasting range. I also ran 8 miles before breakfast, if that has any impact.
They list 150-199 mg/dl as "borderline high." If I understand right, TGs more or less exclusively come from the liver, and excess calories are converted to TGs to be processed later? I wondered if a slightly elevated number would be expected in an endurance athlete, since we are training our bodies to burn large amounts of energy in a short period of time. Would the body be producing extra TGs to be stored for or replenish used stores from training?
