I saw an empty 1/2 liter container lying in the supermarket parking lot. As if sweet tea is not sugary enough. I can't believe people actually drink that crap.

That's Great!
Figured that would be a likely response, but I can only imagine any adult over 40 who drinks that stuff regularly is gonna become diabetic if they are not already.
Who cares? Theres plenty worse things out there and none of em are worth makin a thread over
It's not the "badness" of it, it's the ridiculousness of it. BTW, stuff like this really is a massive health issue in this country, which takes it's economic toll on you and me.

Just visited the US for the first time. The food/drink is either fantastic or ridiculous.
You libs always acting superior and telling other people how to live.this country started with a tea party, you Moran.
Agree.
I eat at Panera a couple of times per week at lunch. Been trying to drink less diet Coke so have been getting tea.
Once I inadvertently got the sweet. Holy cow, it was basically a saturated solution of sucrose. Disgusting.
I typically have had to water down a glass of sweet tea I'd get at a restaurant with half a glass of water for it to taste about as sweet as I'd have expected it to taste like normally. I can't imagine how much watering down extra sweet tea would require.
Sugar is to inflammation as gasoline is to fire.
Go to Hardees. I wanted an unsweet tea and they gave me the sweet tea. After one drink, I felt my teeth sticking together and wanted to go to my dentist to get a thorough cleaning and inspection.
Come on over to Georgia. We put a little tea in our sugar.

Yeah, had "plain" ice tea at a veddy nice restaurant, down south, Flaw-duh way, and they had loaded it with sugar without my asking. Was told that is traditional.I gagged.
Yeah, I'm not big on super sweet drinks. I think I'd actually like soda if they made options that were only mildly sweet, but it seems like such a thing isn't really marketable. (I'm sure there are some specialty sodas that fit this description, but I don't really care enough to seek them out).
Funny that when people are looking to cut calories, they demand soda with fake sugar instead of just saying "maybe use real sugar, but just use a little bit less of it."
