I am 18 years old and male. Just finished my first ever indoor season and This is my second outdoor season coming up. I have been running 45-55 mpw give or take since the beginning of indoor ( December) with the exclusion of the two week break after the season ended. My fastest mile was 4:40 coming off a devastating hamstring injury that took me out for a while. So my Indoor PRs are a bust and Ill leave them out but with the only decent races being a 1000m- 2:40, 1200 leg 3:19
I am coming off of some strong workout and am really anxious to see what I can run by the end of season with your knowledge and experience, please let me know your input.
My workouts are typically 2 track workouts mostly speed endurance oriented and a long run on sunday 12 miles, When we dont have a meet my coach throws in a tempo Tuesday or distance fartlec for endurance. Here are some examples
6x800 workout 2 minute rest
( 2:27, 2:27,2:26, 2:26, 2:24, 2:19)
2x600 2 minutes rest, 10 150s 1 minute rest, 2x600 2 mins
*Hardest workout of college career (1:43,1:42, 10 150's all under 20 seconds with fastest being 17.6, 1:46, 1:50)
2x 500 400 300 200 100 ladder with rest equaling the distance ran
( 83, 66,46,30,15) Going from 100m rest straight into next set
( 84, 68, 49, 32, 13 high )
Random tempo run
2 mile warm up , 3 miles averaging 5:35, 2 mile cooldown.
Based on my training what do you thing I can pull off after another 5 weeks of training until championships?! thanks for your time
