Should be one race, whoever qualifies. The end. Same with soccer teams and volleyball--let the best tryout for spots.
Why not?

Because contrary to third-wave feminists' worldview, men and women are not equal.
Why not let you race horses? Same category. Horse wins NCAA XCountry.
Horse? Or the hyena that eats it at the starting line?
Why do they have separate divisions in boxing etc.
I'd like to see Floyd Mayweather Jr fight Anthony Joshua!
Also v. Rhonda rousey.
Perhaps species and/or mass categories make sense tho
Because they are separate but equal.

For sports like track and field yes it would be logical to have only one division. This would eliminate the Semenya problem and it would be more in keeping with the professional world today where men and women compete equally for jobs and are expected to do the same work when they enter the same professions.
However for sports where physical contact is involved, especially combat sports, I don't think you can have one division for both sexes. This is mainly because of the health risks involved and also because I don't think our society is ready for men and women competing with each other in those types of sports.

The early UFC did have no weight divisions. It does seem a bit contrived to have weight categories in combat sports when you think about it. Why not have weight categories in distance running?

Lol Gracie in the full karate gear vs. A guy with one boxing glove on
It's a Zion-ist plot to destroy human community.
Also why do women and men compete separately in chess? Bridge? Tiddlywinks ?
But it's ok in sailing and equestrian

No, idiot, it's because women are slower than men and can't compete on an even playing field
