The Rockefellers and several other large banking clans across Europe and the Americas (such as the Rothschilds) have been attempting to usurp control of the west for several hundred years from the people by bribing and coercing members of their governments into creating large centralized banks which can be manipulated by the elite. By funding wars, printing money, controlling interest rates, and moving their wealth around (guess who owns the oil companies) they're able to create whatever economic conditions they please so they can make ever more money than they had before.
It's what happens when incomprehensible greed attains infinite economic power. Thy don't care about civilization, they want a massive population of submissive indentured servants with sub 75 IQ's to work on their oil rigs and in their kitchens. It's why they funded wars in Syria and Libya to inspire millions of Somalians and Afghanis to move into Europe.
