Why? I had them being knocked out next round anyway.
A #1 seed has never lost to a #8 before!

I think the seeding committee mixed up Minnesota who was a 5 seed and Wisconsin as an 8. Maybe they got the states mixed up.
I had Wisco beating Nova. My final four are still in tact. Time to pop a bottle.
Losing in the second round is not as bad as losing in the NIT tournament the year after winning the ncaa tournament

Think again. It has happened before.
Wilbon has Wisco in the Final Four. They were seriously under-seeded.
you realize that teams have been undefeated going into the tournament and then lost? like twice in the last 5 years *yawn* not even top 5 busts of the last 17 years.
They going to fire this coach for stinking up the joint? A #1 seed losing to a #8 in only the second round of the tournament...C'mon Man! 😕
One of the best "Flagpoling" examples in recent years. Man, did they choke and make fools of themselves.
LOL @ Flagpole.
Duke one of the most, if not the most prestigious programs in the country, as a #2 seed losing to #15 Lehigh....
Kentucky going undefeated during the regular season- a team with 4 guys going in the top 13 draft picks.
Their 38–1 record (.974 winning percentage) is the best by a team that did not finish undefeated.
Allow. Me. To. Repeat. Myself.
*YAWN*
(by the way these are just from the last 5 years...)

And that loss was to Wisconsin.
Amazing what good coaching can do with a few big white kids from Wisconsin who don't want to go pro after 1 year vs. the high school all-star one and dones of these other teams...
Have to disagree. Anyone who has watched both teams play knew this could happen.
I thought Nova would win, but it was going to be a single digit game regardless. To have to play Wisco in the second round, and having Duke as the #2 seed in their bracket...ridiculous.
There are a lot of bad seeds. Wisco is a great #8 seed, and Wichita St may be the best #10 seed ever, regardless of what happens against Kentucky.
CBS is trying to couch this game as a tremendous upset. However this particular tournament has no super teams and there are a lot of teams who can beat teams more highly regarded in a one off. There are probably at least 10 teams coming into the tournament who you can logically state they have a chance to win and this doesn't include the teams that just happen to have a hot 3 weekends.
Because of the parity, it's actually been a pretty dull affair because of the lack of a true Cinderella type team.
Who the in hell was that crybaby kid in the stands at one of those games yesterday?

Nova won it all as 8 seed in 1985.....irony....
Alan
This upset has more to do with a seeding process is need of reform rather than the underperformance of Villanova.
