I noticed this in a story that Chris Lotsbom wrote on Lotsbom earlier this week:

The biggest initial shock to transitioning to Thompson and Wilson’s group was the cold temperatures in Philadelphia. Training outside all winter long, Lipsey and Wilson together grinded through workouts improving little by little each day. Friends before the move, the pair grew even closer – basically becoming sisters, as Lipsey put it – by the time the indoor racing season began.
Pretty impressive that they were able to both beat the AR at 800.
PS. While coaching at Cornell, I always claimed it was way easier to train in Ithaca (70 no wind indoors) in the winter than at UPenn (no indoor track).
