@rekrunner
Well everything you said is correct, many nations have great cyclist recently but runners are mostly from east Africa.
There are some anomalies however for example - Jamaican sprinters - we know very well why they WERE so good in the past - no out of competition testing at all. Now only Bolt is still untouchable and bubble of excellence is shrinking not for him but for all others.
For me personally only one thing can prove that east African are so good would be that 20 best ones are placed under constant control in EU or US for some 3-4 months and then let them race and I am sure that times achieved will be worse than before.
Regarding steroids and distance running - yes it should not help, BUT it is helping with recovery so you can pushing yourself harder, much harder, almost as Paula, so 2-3 training session in a day can be done. I think that most of the Kenyans busted in last 5-6 years are for steroids and not for EPO. Correct?
They are training in training camps, right, for sure training is grueling and they have problems with recovery, (if they can't survive in that camps their existence is endangered, no income etc. so they are looking for additional stimulant - in this case steroids).
Cycling and EPO - yes it is not working in one day races but reason is only that in that types of racing winners are almost always sprinters, but if we have 1 day race, for example mountain time trial (that kind of 1 day races does not exist) winner will be for sure a EPO rider.
Average speed of peloton greatly increased during EPO era, transfusions were popular also before and after that time.
All American cycling team for LA games in 1984 were based on blood transfusions of close family members - all in 1 room. Later, even if allowed at that time, I think coach and someone else were found guilty for that and were lost their job.
Steroids and cycling - Floyd Landis have been busted due to T/E 11:1 ratio which has been found on day of his historical escape and solo race after being destroyed on previous day (stage 16 of 2006 TdF) in mountains. So that worked for him.
If not for EPO do we have any other explanation for many world records in distance races during those 15 years?
Chinese women? I remember seeing that girl and style of her running like that she had 1 leg 5cm shorter than another one.
Still she had 2 world records.
My problem with east Africans are great involvement of some ......... doctors from specific country down there.
As I said before bring them in EU or US so that we have some regular testing and then and only then we can see the truth, like it or not.
Still I have a problem with athletes going in Africa for training - why nobody went down there 20-30-40 years ago.
MO went down there and he is like a new when he came back and he is not alone...
All professional cyclist regularly go to Spain for training, dr. Fuentes maybe? or some of others wizards - it is not for the good weather, as Lance showed to us when he run away from France were police can search apartments for drugs and he found nice place in SPAIN.
No wonder about outcome for Jada Aman in that country.
200 bags of blood and he walks away (Fuentes) - is that likely to happen in US for example?
Maybe if he started to TALK about owners of those bags.
Still today he works in Canary islands, what a joke?
Well now it looks like that jada was not busted for doping at all. I think that you write about that - that acc. to local press there were no doping at all. That story is VERY different from first reports so that only shows us about that country and doping.
I bet that half of Real and Barca players were customers of dr. Fuentes.
Why nobody made a progress except north and east Africans during EPO era? Well Chinese did, Paula as well.
Probably Africans ARE better at running after all.
What is my point after all of this writing - I have no idea.
Maybe forbid everything, no chemicals of any kind allowed.
Nothing at all.
