Is this better than 3:53 mile? Probably. Mondo could win a medal at the freaking WC.

Is it better than Carter is my question.
I wish I knew/cared more about the PV so I could truly comprehend and appreciate what this mark means.

it's in the hunt for a medal at any OG or WC. Certainly a finalist.
would have been #2 indoors for all Americans
world junior record. Think about that in terms of running - the world junior record in the 1500 is 3:28

are you talking about all time for americans, because if that is the case he would be T13 (which is still very good, don't get me wrong). He did get the Swedish indoor record (previously 5.81), and is now #3 in all environments for Sweden (record is 5.87).
Honestly, I think the world is evolving. I was at a St Patty's 5k today and some kid who just turned 14 ran 13:57 (Yes 4:30 pace)

Seriously what is the f'n 14 year old WR for the 5k? Especially given he ran this at 6,200 feet. That must equates to a sub 4 mile for a kid that young if he ran it at sea level.

not sure I understand what you are asking - it is a world junior record
in 2016 5.82 would have been the #2 american mark. Not all time - just in 2016 indoors.

that's phenomenal. could that be right?
world record for 14 year olds is 13:52, on a track, not at altitude
http://www.arrs.net/SA_O5K.htmThis is hilarious
13:57 is absolutely insane for a 14 year old. I bet that is a new World Record for altitude. Who the F is that kid?
WOW -! 4:30 pace for a 14 year old! I could do that in my sleep, moving along.

I feel like the chip time got messed up. The gun time was 14:20. I honestly don't think that is right. Maybe the course is short or downhill or something?
I was there the guy came shooting past me and beat me by a few minutes, I was mid 16 and this guy beat me by nearly 3 minutes.
No the course isn't short or downhill, it's actually probably the most flat 5k in Colorado, look up previous years, every year has screaming fast competition from all over the US.

Lol definitely not legit. The womens winner, Laura Graham, ran 14:45. That would be an american record. I googled her name and nothing really came showing that she's a pro athlete or something so there's no way she ran that legit. Same with the kid. Googled his name and couldn't find anything at all. Not even athletic.net track/cross country results. Either timing got seriously messed up or the course is trash.
The girl who won isn't American, I believe she was British, also, the girl who was in second also was not American. Lastly that 14 year old kid, did in fact run that quick whether you believe me or not, I was there. He probably doesn't have an Athlinks because the kid is just starting his Career. I really dunno, all I know is i saw a little Blonde hair kid runf aster than anyone i've ever seen run a 5k and i looked it up when i got home, he beat me by around 3 minsand I was running mid 16.
Idk man. That would still make her and the other girl professional records. Google searches would bring up info about them but there's really nothing on there about them. If the kid was just starting his running career then he wouldn't be running that fast. Especially at altitude and a road race rather than a track. Not to mention that then next person behind him was almost a minute behind so he had no competition. What do you normally run?
Professional runners. Not records.
Course short. Girls times ridiculous too. Or timing screwed up.
Or he cheated.
Duplantis's development has been phenomenal all along the way. This was foreseen years ago. The only questions were whether he'd do the right thing and compete for the United States, instead of Sweden, and eventually break the world record or stall out below 20'.
