Maybe I am too young to understand but what is the point of having Rolex or the brand new I-phone when it offers nothing special? Why not buy a normal watch or a nice looking watch that costs significantly less but still functions the same? Same with phones and other electronics, what is the point of upgrading if nothing is different? In fact there might be a point in trying to get the cheapest and best working stuff as nobody would want to really steal your things. I just don't understand this mentality of needing the newest(does not mean the best) things.
You're probably trolling, but I'll answer anyway. First of all, stop questioning how other people spend their money. It's none of your damn business.
Why are you equating watches and electronics? There could not possibly be two more opposite products. The price range difference on watches is largely superficial, aside from niche uses like scuba diving. There are also watches that last decades, if not centuries while still performing like the day they were bought. Not a single piece of consumer electronics has come close to that.
As far as phones go, high end phones are objectively better in many ways such as quality of camera, CPU/RAM performance, quality of screen, quality of software, water resistance, etc. That is not functioning "the same" to anyone that pays attention to how their phone functions.
Are the cheaper phones "good enough" for many people to put off upgrades or to purchase outright? Absolutely, but that doesn't mean that they function "the same." It all comes down to the priority level you place on individual features such as the camera or anything else I mentioned.
P.S. It's iPhone, not I-phone, but you already knew that and misspelled it to troll us.
