I need motivation!
I walked on to a decent power 5 D1 program and have had good progress. I was a 4:15/9:20 under-trained high school guy. Now I'm a 24:3X 8K XC, 8:1X 3K(i), 14:2X 5K guy. I've never run a 10K on the track.
My goals are to make outdoor regionals in 5K or 10K and all conference and all region in XC (in a very tough conference and region). Ultimately AA in XC and/or Track. I have 2+ years of eligibility left.
So, are there any examples out there where walk ons made it to AA? If so, I'd like to know more about your/their story, training, setbacks, etc.
(Please don't tell me about some guy who ran for Villanova in 1952 or something.)
