So during the winter I played hockey and didn't have much of an opportunity to run. As our season had ended I've resumed running a bit and and wondering if I should just build up a tiny amount of "base" until the season starts or if I should throw some workouts in there at all? I'm definitely in better shape than I was last year.
Last year I was concussed for the 3 weeks before track started so I had to lay in bed for like half of that. Which also meant I only was able to run like 3 times before our first practice, which I ran a 5:16 at in our mile time trial we always do in the first practice. I ended up focusing primarily on the 800 and ran 2:01 last year
Anyways, any advice on what I should focus on this year?
PRS
400: 54 (ran in the first meet last year, stayed at this speed the whole year, it was a 7 second pr when I ran it)
800: 2:01
1600: 4:49 (ran early in the year, didn't run the mile after this)
3200: none
5k xc: 16:44, I burned out at the end of the season
