I'm a hunter fan but they aren't in the same league right now.

Is there any reason to believe that the King is actually going for the collegiate record in the mile this weekend at BU? Or is Flotrack just hyping up an NCAA qualifier like they usually do?
Wait? So someone is finally admitting what we've said for years, anything on an oversized track is illegit??

How did you get that from the original message?

I thought BU's track was normal, not oversized...

BU's track is 200 meters. It is normal. Rojo is looking to find a way to invalidate Rupp's ARs that he set on the very same track. He's coming up with "alternative facts" to suit his bias.

Not even in the same league???
Indoor 1 mile PR:
Hunter: 3:56.80
Cheserek: 3:56.43
I think too many people have their heads way up Ches' butt

Cheserek 3:52 anchor split 30 minutes after a 5k last indoor NCAAs. 'Nuf said.
Cheserek would eat Drew Hunter alive in an open mile race at this point in their respective careers. The two are are literally just at two different tiers right now. Also pretty sure Ches has run faster or just as fast as his open indoor mile PR in relay splits after running multiple events the same day.
The King split a 3.52 mile split 30-45 minutes after winning the indoor 5 k last year I say he goes at least 3.52 on Sunday. King Haters are funny he already tied the most NCAA D-1 Championships ever at 17? and still has indoors and outdoors to go where he will add at least 4 more NCAA Championship. King Ches>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rupp and that's saying a lot. GO DUCKS
I second the other posters to say that Cheserek is far better than Hunter at this point. Just how much better is an open question. I'll say Cheserek runs 3:53 on Sunday and Hunter runs a low 3:56.
Lets not forget all of Hunter's PR's are from races where he gets 4th or 5th. King Ches' PR's are races that he chills and then blasts the field. Those two are not comparable. Hunter would be a DI all-American as a freshman, but theres a big difference between all-American and beating Ches.
JW would be a crowd-pleaser by running 4:12 doing it all in lane 5 with a hand bottle.

There is also that 3:36 from way back in May 2014 ... worth about a 3:53 mile. Pretty safe to say Ches has improved over the last 3 years, so who knows how fast he could go.
As for this Sunday, it's one race, and anything can happen. Maybe Hunter will beat him (although it's unlikely) but that proves nothing.
I don't think Ches is running anything super-quick on his own. Maybe with great pacemaking or some 3:50-53 type milers in the field he will run fast. Otherwise I predict 3:55-56 for him.

I'm a Hunter and Ches fan and I agree, but, I wouldn't say that they're going to be extremely far apart this race unless there are some pacers helping Ches to run really fast.
To refer back to the title of this, like I said above, Cheserek won't run that fast without pacers. He might pull a 3:55 with a kick, I say Hunter can run 3:55 high if he really pushes and races well. That's iffy though, his 3:56 looked tough at Millrose. If there are pacers then Cheserek could probably run within 3:52 if his fitness is good right now.
BU's track is short.

Rojo's post makes no sense.
- There's nothing in the OP about short or long indoor tracks
- the rules are quite clear that oversized indoor tracks don't count for indoor records, but do count for outdoor (more accurately, "non-indoor") records, so I'm not sure why he thinks he is a trend setter
- illegit is no more of a word than rojo is a journalist. I even had to delete the auto fill on my phone to type "illegit" just now since it autocorrects to illegitimate, so I'm not sure how he even made that mistake.

I guess that 3:52 1600 split means nothing.
