Hi Guys
I'm looking for some advice on what I perceive to be an issue with "adrenaline dumping" during my daughter's cross country races.
She's 12, with some decent endurance ability (sub 21-minute cross country 5k), perhaps a bit of an over-strider and physically small/light for her age.
She is, however, having an issue in competitions that I *think* is akin to adrenaline dumping: she has a great start, is in the mix with the leaders until about 2/2.5 minutes in (normally 3,000 XC races).
She then feels what she calls a "drop" in energy that prevents her from going with lead girls. She'll normally recover by the end and finish strong, but she's a tad frustrated as to why she loses energy early in the race (when her training has been going pretty well).
What experience, if any, have you had with this and what sort of remedies would you suggest?
Very grateful for any feedback.
Thanks!
