I would say a majority of the "annoying things" that high schoolers do now are directly related to the parenting you are receiving. I hate to give a pass like that but there is a lack of respect (both to adults and each other), responsibility, and a sense of entitlement. However, I do not blame the kids. Parents should be the ones instilling these values into the youth.
Therefore, to be fair, I would say the current wave of parents are lazy, self-absorbed, and entitled as well.
