What computer or device OS do you use and why?
For me Win 7 pro at work, because that what we use and the same at home because I like it and it works.

ChromeOS.
Ubuntu. Had many flavors of linux in my day but I have been with Ubuntu since time immemorial.
MS-DOS 3.31
Win. NINE. FIVE. None better!
Windows 7 at work
Windows 7 at home on the PC I use for gaming
Linux Mint on the PC I use for web browsing and email
still tryin to figure out dos, can't wait to try that new game carmen sandiego
I use Ubuntu Gnome as my daily OS. The way Gnome handles workspaces is just on another level for me. I also have a small netbook running Ubuntu Mate, its cool, lightweight and stable but not Gnome (for me). A pure Debian distro is starting to look appealing, maybe Debian stretch, I'll see. So yeah Linux is the way to go man!
Why?
I like having control and access to the core of my system, I don't like trusting something blindly. It's also easier to access supercomputers via ssh, bash scripting makes life so much easier, some scientific software only runs on Linux, although there's ways to get it on windows its not worth the struggle.
My laptop runs Windows 10 because it runs all of the personal and productivity software I need.
I run a bunch of Linux servers on VMWare ESXi because it runs all of the backend software I need, and it's free
I run Android on my phone, as it's by far the most commonly used phone operating system.

Man, how did you make it to oregon in Oregon Trail? I keep dying of starvation around missouri
Both Mac and Windows (10) daily. Don't have much interest in Linux and some Linux fans remind me of the people who insist vinyl records "sound better"

For most people's computer tasks it's just as good as Windows. It's also free. I don't understand why anyone who only uses their computers for web browsing, email, and typing an occasional letter (most people) pay Microsoft for an OS.
Gaming I understand, not a lot of games in my steam library will work on Linux.

They don't "pay" Microsoft for an OS. Microsoft charges almost nothing to have Windows pre-installed on cheap laptops.
Irix 6.5 on SGI.
Because video card suck.

False. The price of any PC sold includes a windows tax charged on every unit sold by a Microsoft retailer. You are paying for Windows whether you use it or not.
Microsoft's retail business is quite like the mafia. So easy to get started! Not easy to leave.
