I was under the impression that Nick Symmonds was retired. However, based off of his most recent Instagram post, he states that he is doing one more track season.

He also just claimed that caffeine improves your 800m time by at least 3 seconds, a 5k by 20, and so on. (This was based off a magazine article that he using to promote his gum).
This is his last season, if he even runs. If his knee is busted up as he claims I doubt he breaks 1:48 this year
Who?
I heard he just bought the formulas to the famous George Hamilton Tanning System products and will sell them at his chain of tanning salons. Insiders say he is close to a break through on a chewable tanning gum.

He also said he will try a marathon. Shooting for sub 3.
Here is the deal.
In 2016 Nick was never a factor.
In 2015 Nick had a horrible year but ran one good race at US Nationals. He shocked himself and was realistic enough to know that it was a fluke. He then turned his ONE RACE into a side show with his boycott of the WC.
So 2014 was his last good year and he wanted to be paid for one more year. Knowing that he hasn't produced in over 2 years, 2017 is likely to be a disaster. Nick knows this and knows that retiring at the end of this year will be meaningless. So to combat that he announced his retirement at the beginning of the year.
It is all a great big marketting side show.
Right on, he just does it for attention and he for some reason keeps getting it for doing nothing
Shall we form a Let Us Ignore Nick Symmonds Club and not post on threads about Nick Symmonds ?

He didn't have a horrible year in 2015. He peaked for Nationals - like usual - and then was booted from the WC team for his grandstanding. He didn't boycott the WC. You're letting your jealousy of Nick's rather good career in comparison to your lack of talent and success lead you to petty lies.
Age 34
Stress fracture and torn ligaments in the left ankle after doing 200's.
Slow training buildup in base.
So what happens the next time he runs 150's and 200's?
The only way out is aerobic mileage, tempo and racing at longer distances.

Point proven.
Why would he not be trying to peak at the WC?
Answer
Because he had zero plans of running the WC. BOYCOTT
