Almost three weeks ago I was running at practice and felt a pretty serious pain on the outside of my knee. I talked with my school's sports trainer and we decided it was ITB Syndrome. Since then I've been following a series a stretches, foam rolling, and working on strengthening my glutes and core (all tasks I was told to do by the trainer). I tried running the other day to see if I could notice any improvement and again, I was only able to get about 5 minutes into the run before I felt the same pain. I recently signed to run in college, and with outdoor season coming up, I'm worried that this injury will put me behind. I am wondering how long it has taken fellow runners to recover for ITB Syndrome and if there are any other steps I should be taking in order to hasten my recovery.
