In March I decided I would go out for the xc team because i wanted to learn how to run. About a week later someone stepped on a tendon on the front of my foot which rendered me useless. I was out of training for about 4 months because my ankle was having episodes every few minutes when I walk. Come august my foot/ankle was better. But I was struggling because I basically lost all my endurance. Let's just say my xc season was a disaster. My pr is about 24:59 but I was barely punching in 15 miles a week.
Then it ended and I started running more consistently. Then come winter break I ran about 20 miles a week before getting injured. I pulled my foot going down a steep hill. I was out for 2 weeks.
Now we're training for outdoor track. The first meet is in over 2 weeks. Does anyone have any advice. I'll be racing either the 1600 or the 3200
I'm trying to do about 30 and I am going to try and build up to 40 by the end of the season.
