Anyone else try these "Swiss engineered" puppies? Best feeling shoes I've ever run in. That "Cloud" outsole really is ingenious.

Wow! Tell me more about this amazing product, fellow running enthusiast!
Well, I'd suggest you start by reading the link I provided.
I've heard a lot about them. Do they have a model that would compare to the Hoka Clifton cushion-wise?
what model? mpw?
From what my regional rep told me, the closest would be the Cloudflyer. I've been wearing the Cloudflow, which is about 8 oz. and feels comparable in cushioning to the Altra Torin 2.0, but allows way more "feel"/proprioceptive input from the ground.
I'm doing about 40 mpw right now, long run 10 miles.
Are you the company's new social media intern? Don't worry, your second week on the job will get easier.
I would've been interested, because I tried them on in a run shop and they were super light and cushioned (although a bit unstructured, no support), but you compared them to Altra, which I think sucks.

Thats BS , they are a stiff hard ride.
Take a look at various reviews to back up what I say.
My guess is your a sales rep or working for the company.

Altra shoes suck? Why do you say that? BTW, every company makes a lot if different models, of which, I guarantee you that at least one of the models will "suck" for you. Making sweeping statements about a particular running shoe brand being "good" or "bad" shows lack of understanding.
They are a great walking shoe, terrible running shoe.
Their outsole is downright dangerous if you live in slippery/icy areas.

Umm, and which shoes (besides Yak Trax) aren't dangerous in slippery/icy areas???

They are the slickest outsole I've ever worn. A typical rainy day and they feel like any other running shoe on ice.

No so fast, brands build a around a platform of technology, an entire collection possibly may not work and may draw the term the line sucks. On shoes fit that bill, just as Altra with a wide forefoot platform negative heel type of construction. Guess what the entire collection will not work for a certain foot type and certain bio mechanical stride pattern.

I completely agree with everything you just said. I did not mean to imply that a particular brand has something that is right for everyone, including On, but the point is, you are wrong to base your opinion on a particular brand of shoes as "sucking" because one or more pair, or even their entire line, doesn't work for you. BTW, not one model of Altra has a negative heel.

I partially agree with you on this. Interestingly, when running on dry pavement, in my experience, the outsole has great traction, but on wet pavement, it is reduced, although I've never actually slipped or felt it to be severe nearly to the extent you are describing.
No, I am not wrong in saying Altra "sucks." They make shoes with a dinosaur mentality that sucks in the weak-minded and novice runner. Here is why I think they "suck" for me -
1. Design is important and they look like Wal-Mart shoes
2. Every model is a zero-drop shoe.
3. Owner just wants to be bought out by a larger brand.
