What are times of elite 1500/1 mile runners, if known? Estimates are good too. Say people who have run sub 3:30/3:48.

*For 100 meters
Some could get to somewhere between 11.2 to 11.5 I'm guessing
Hicham in his prime probably could have trained himself to maybe a 10.9 tops. Maybe Lagat also.
Farah 12.97. That's the only recent one we know for fact.
And for f**ks sakes before someone says "derp but he finishes races faster than dat!!!" learn the difference between flying start vs. starting from blocks.
Sub 10 for sure, distance runners are the best athletes on the planet.
No way does the 5th fasted 1500m guy ever get destroyed by a high jumper and an overweight flat footed boxer. Oh.

Not even with a running start and hurricane in the back. Stick to talking just about "running" and leave "sprinting" talk to people less oblivious.

You forgot to mention their super model wives all run sub 11.0 seconds.
I know that Ovett has tried a 200m... he writes in his book. I am not sure but I believe he's run 21.7. That would mean he was able to sub 11.0.
No it wouldn't. Not out of blocks FAT.The American record for eventual sub-4:00 milers is 11.84 FAT. I'll let you all guess who holds it.

he would be very close to sub 11.0, at least a 11.1... 21.7!

Alyson Felix has PRs of 21.7 and 10.9 *and she is a sprinter*. A distance guy would be no better than 11.50 FAT.
The miler I mentioned above has a faster 800/400r PR than Ovett and didn't break 11.8.

Clayton Murphy?
Nonsense. 11.8 is 47.2 pace. Ovett only had 47.5 because he basically never ran the 400m. Coe was capable of 45.8 and Ovett could run at least a second faster than that 47.5. And yet you claim he was not able to break 11.8? Gimme a break...P.S: Allyson Felix is a 400m runner and not a 100m runner and yet she could run 10.9 under a 21.7 200m. Ovett would run at least 11.1 / 11.2.
