I was 18 when I first did my own taxes. Nobody helped me nor did I ask for help.
My friend that is 26 is filing taxes for the first time and has started earning income for first time in their life in tax year 2016. They're asking me a *ton* of questions regarding taxes even though I'm not a certified financial planner nor an accountant. I tell my friend to look this stuff online and to be self-sufficient.
Other people I know are in their mid 20s and have had their parents do their *very* simple taxes for all of their working career.
Maybe it's me but I think that you should have to do things yourself to err; and you learn from your mistakes instead of relying on mom and dad for everything.
What say LRC?
