Yes, he feels she has right to compete as a woman when she undergoes testosterone inhibiting measures.

No one says Semenya doesn't have the right to compete as a man.

However, allowing a man to compete with women is not right.

Thanks to the double-negative it is hard to decipher the IAAF position, but as I understand it, they want the right to keep androgen levels below a certain standard. This would make Caster a 2:03 athlete again.

I wouldn't be so hopeful my friend. Her performances last year, running 1:55/1:56 blasting the last 100m indicated 1:52 ability. Maybe even 1:51.

I think with 'normal' T she still smashes 2:00.

More went wrong for her in 2014 than just the testosterone inhibiting drugs.

She had a knee injury and couldn't train.

She is also just an all round better athlete now, older and more mature. She wasn't on these T inhibitors when she ran great times before 2012, including 1:55. In 2016 she was SO much better than she was pre 2012.

Even on the drugs she will be smashing 2:00.

Why? In the professional world, men and women compete with each other for jobs, promotions etc. Hilary Clinton competed against Trump for the US presidential election. Why does track and field have to be any different? Cases like Semenya only highlight the urgent need to remove men and women categories from track and field and make it open competition.

Semenya is not a man.

She is a 2-time Olympic Champion.

She is not even the World Record Holder, or near it, which is held my mega steroid users.

Yes I have read the article, thank you. It is quite clear. He wants her competing as a woman, with female levels of testosterone, set by the IAAF, rather than her natural 'male' levels. Thus she will be a woman competing against women. That is the absolute best he can expect to achieve.

It should be different because this isn't politics. Obviously someone has not viewed any times or records or you would know that men are faster than women on a competitive scale. If we made the entire sport of track and field a competition between men and women together, no woman would ever reach the final of any major race ever.

Then why not have a non African category for distance running? Or a non altitude division? Or a weight category? Just becasue someone cannot win or make a final is not much of an argument to create a category for them. Contrary to what you say, having a women's category and the Semenya situation is all about politics.
