This kid is very good. Good for him. His coach turns out many top athletes year-in-year-out.
Nice to see yet another Michigan athlete compete at the top time level in High School. Wish MI athletes could compete more often with the top HS athletes.
Problem with Michigan (MHSAA actually) is athletes are restricted to compete/travel out of state (certain number of events per year, distance from MI, no all star teams etc.). Arcane set of rules.
Cameron Cooper needs to compete with athletes that are his equal or better. He will have his chance at NB Nationals if he goes. That eats up one of his MHSAA 'allowed' travel. It actually violates MHSAA rules because according to MHSAA rules an athlete isn't allowed to compete at national championships. How stupid is that? Thankfully, many of the past top MI HS athletes have ignored the rule and gone to compete and better themselves and their college recruiting marketability.
