I appreciate all of the commentary here.
Yes, the 19:14 in December was on a so-so leg, and, yes, perhaps I should have skipped it, but I will say this: I feel blessed to have done it, and it did put a smile on my face.
My training partner, who was once two minutes shy of an Olympic Trials qualifier in the marathon, trained with me throughout the summer and fall, and she was running on a fractured heel. She runs on a race team, and had a marathon to run in Italy. The fracture was confirmed some weeks ago. Perhaps someday I will be as tough as she is. I admire her spirit and her love of the sport. It is inspiring.
What can I say...I love to run. I hope all woks out well for NYC Half. I have been treating my leg via massage therapy, supplements, stretching, and prayer. We will see where this brings us in the next week or two. If I simply cannot do it, then I will not. But I will make my best effort to be there in NYC.
With regard to the race suggestions, I thank all who have made them. I have family responsibilities, and so I tend to run close to home. Houston would be nice, but it is far away. Again, I appreciate the suggestions.
All the best to everyone here.
Love your running.
