Cool workout and all, but that only got them 3rd that year at CIS Championships. Guelph won with 22 points on the men's side. Also, Guelph would get dunked on by many a "wee American" D1 team at Nationals. The few times they come down here to face NCAA competition they get smacked. Even without facing the best teams in the NCAA at the best meet in the NCAA (the championships).
Sick workout though!!!

Holy CARP!
So:
30 min. warmup
5 x :30 hills
5 x 200m
1 x 3k
5 x :30 hills
5 x 200m
1 x 3k
4 x 1k
30 min. cooldown
28km total workout
Studly workout. Are these high school, college or open runners?
University. Canada's D1 equivalent.
I believe the lead runner CPT is a 3:33 runner at 1500m and Olympian
What's with the shirts off and either arm warmers or gloves? Are these guys morans?
No just different.

As its presented, or listed out like this, the workout seems way harder than it is breaking it down.
Hard to say how hard an effort those hill splits were in the dark, but I'm going to say mile paced effort, with 2:00 rest on :30 effort at that pace is extremely easy.
If there are 3:33 1500 runners in that group, the 5x200s (33-31) are at 3k race pace, again pretty easy.
3k @ 8k pace, self-explanatory
repeat everything again, then
4 x 1k @ a bit over 5k pace working down to the last one at 3k pace.
So in total:
10 x 200 @ mile effort (on a hill) with 20:00 total rest(!!!)
10 x 200 @ 3k effort with 5:00 total rest
2 x 3k @ 8k pace (was it 4:00 rest after each?)
4 x 1k @ 5k>3k pace with 6:00 total rest.
Plus 4-5x 4:00+ rests between the various groupings. That is a LONG workout, but that seems to be the challenge is how long they're on their feet, as those hills and 200s @ 3k pace would barely register as a workout and more just keep them prepped for more running.
The kid in the "That guy" thread who did 8 x 1k @ 3k race pace, then 8 x 200 @ mile pace had a way more challenging workout relative to his ability.

I believe CPT's PB is only 3:34.23. Not 3:33 like some of these guys are stating.
But put that aside, someone please tell me the purpose of this workout. Seriously! What is the purpose of this workout? Sprints, 3kms, hills, 1kms, and it's the distance of a long run?
Someone please tell me why a 1500m runner would EVER be doing a 28km workout. This must have taken at minimum 2 hours to complete.

Thanks. The linked article indicated his 1500m best = 3:34.23. I think Charles Philibert Thiboutot raced in a 1500m race at Monaco in 2015 or 2016.
Yeah, very weird workout.
Kind of reminds me of the "Michigan" and old-style Oregon workouts. Kind of a "kitchen sink" affair. OK for early pre-comp training, too strenuous if they are also racing.
Hard to get too amped about a three year old video of a school I've never heard of.
The women are too well-endowed to be very good, ha.

That's just how we roll in Quebec.

That's how you roll? You roll with workouts that have no purpose? I trained in Quebec for 2 years and was never asked to do a workout like this.
So you don't question your coach on the purpose of the workout even if it lasts 2+ hours?
This workout looks like something a child would make.
Crazy workout!
