Anyone know what the cause of death was? Was he sick? Often times, men have a hard time once their wives pass.
Allan was innovative when it came to race scoring. Back in the late 70's he came up with the idea of putting a bar code onto a race number for scoring purposes. He saw that it was used in cycling so he thought why wouldn't it work for running races. At first bar codes were used only for certain NYRRC races but after awhile it was common place in every race that they put on. Right now Allan and Fred are planning one hell of a race in heaven.

Allan had been sick for a long time with something similar to ALS. His passing was expected.
