I have noticed a recent trend of HS sprinters cropping up with an incredible range:
Tyrese Cooper - 55m (6.34), 100m (10.36), 400m (45.23), 500m (1:01.88)
Michael Norman - 55m (6.15), 100m (10.27), 400m (45.19)
Josephus Lyles - 55m (6.19), 100m (10.51), 400m (45.46), 500m (1:03.36)
Grant Holloway - 55m (6.22), 100HH (13.37), 500m (1:03.35)
Obviously these athletes are all blessed with amazing natural talent, but there has always been talent. These athletes are running historically fast times in both the shortest and longest sprint events.
Does anyone have any insight into what kind of sprint training these athletes used to achieve such a range? Historically, the short sprint training has looked quite a bit different from the long sprint training, and I can't help but wonder if there aren't some new hybrid-sprint training philosophies being implemented.
