The court blocked the use of the map in the 2018 midterm elections and ordered state lawmakers to begin to draw a new map.

Republicans had consistently received a 13 to five advantage in the state's congressional delegation since 2012.

Your first error is I am not pop pop. So you have a penchant for misinterpreting things. Nothing he wrote is racist. Did he call Trump supporters racist? I agree with that. On one hand, I'm pissed at the feckless old-timers at the helm of the Democratic Party. Everyone knows it is a virtual certainty that Republicans (including Mitch himself) aren't going live up to this pinky-swearsies promise. Leaving the Dreamers' fates in the hands of a group of vandals who hold them in complete contempt is a complete disgrace. Defending the DACA recipients is the morally correct decision and it shouldn't be that difficult to push back against the "AIIEEEE DANGEROUS ILLEGALS!!!" narrative coming from the White Supremacy Party. They just really suck at it.

On the other hand, it is very difficult to take a hard-line stance in these negotiations when Democrats are the only ones who actually care about keeping the government open and functioning. (Again, this was not a point Democrats articulated well at all.) A lot of Republicans LOVE the idea of unpaid government workers and stiffing the moochers who depend on government programs to survive. They ran on gutting it! They were feeling no pressure to give in from their base, and the mainstream "liberal" media spent the entire weekend running interference for them by blaming both sides for the shutdown. Absent a concerted push by Democrats to change this narrative and put more pressure on the Republicans, conservatives probably would have been okay with shutting down the government indefinitely. So at least the 9 million kids they were holding hostage now have access to healthcare.
