I have been busy lately so I haven't been watching the news or on the internet. How is the relief effort going in Puerto Rico and VI? Is our President doing a good job?

I started a thread that got deleted about how the Russians purchased black lives matter ads on facebook during the election to add divisiveness into the electorate. I felt that was very interesting, and was a somewhat diabolical and creative way to help Trump. It relates a little bit to Trump's continue pounding on this NFL thing. Things are falling apart all over, from the Russian investigation, health care going down, to his own eroding position in his party, but he frames the media issue to be about the NFL. I believe he thinks this issue works to strengthen his position.Trump only focused on Puerto Rico after he got called out on it.

hah hah
I'd guess that close to a third of trump voters don't know PR citizens are also US citizens. They don't care about PR.
On the other hand
If Hispanic Dems in TX and FL get all angry at Trump for not taking care of PR better, they may come out and finally vote in midterms. Which could flip the House.

That's a good thing.
(I can point out when Trump does positive things)
took the monster 8 days to do it
Wait. Weren't we just talking about whether or not Trump would be a dictator? Trump SHOULDN'T be able to waive laws to score political points. We don't want to live in a country where the President simply decides which laws to enforce and which ones to ignore. That was a big problem with Obama. He did that all the time.
Congress should step up and immediately repeal that stupid law, which was almost certainly put in place due to Union influence.

That's the problem right there.
You see as an act to score political points where we should see it as an act to save lives.
The Congressmen who voted to repeal the ACA did it to score political points.
The ones who voted against it (including the Republican ones) did it to save lives.

I believe this law has written into it the mechanism for waiving it. So no tyranny, no.
I thought trumpers were all in favor of America First protectionism like the Jones Act.
Are you for free trade or are you for America First? Do tell.
and for god's sale, the principle of exec branch decisions on how to prioritize laws is bedrock in the american system.
There is no possible way to enforce every law equally. Should the exec branch spend $7 triliion to stop jaywalking? No. They don't spend that. By your logic that is exec branch overreach.
The exec branch always has to decide how to prioritize spending. Congress hands them the money and says 'up to you, bub.'

Did we ever find out why the top investigator left a few weeks back?

wrong conclusion.
remember that Trump is the first president who seeks to divide the nation, not unite it. Trump doesn't give two carps what Dems think of him. He did the NFL thing to firm up his red meat base after he lost some of them with health care. The repubs love the NFL thing. Look for his approval ratings among repubs to go up when released next week. It's already at 81% - I'd expect that to jump a bit. The NFL thing is a big win for Trump.
I still think you're underestimating the value placed on football by his red meat base. Even they are not immune to the show of unity by the players and coaches as a whole. The more Trump goes after the NFL as a whole and diminishes their game, the more he ultimately loses.
I still don't know why the NFL and the military are so inextricably linked. So American
you think trumpers will choose black football players over their orange god? Not a chance.
A few country club repubs will be disgusted by Trump's behavior, but the red hatted ones? they'll choose the white guy over the black guy every time.
or put another way, this is trump proving he loves the country. Whereas blacks and dems clearly don't love the country.
The DOD pays something like 10 million a year to the NFL to get themselves plastered all over the league. You may notice the little plug for the Military Something Or Other Association before games. It's just like Chevy's earlier (?) tie-in to MNF.
Why they fly military jets over the stadiums, I don't know. They're sure repeating all the yee-hah mistakes NASCAR made, that's one thing I've been noticing.
And this red-meat-to-Trump's-base crap will blow up in a hurry, once this drop in ad revenue to the league and networks thanks to fleeing advertisers winds up hurting broadcasts to low population areas. They'll be watching Adam 12 reruns, rather than America's Team, if this continues much longer. I'm sure they'll blame that on Obama.

The insanity takes another step forward...
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/28/us/politics/facebook-russia-race-congressional-black-caucus.htmlThe election of Trump has put on a pedestal the one of the largest mass-hysteria and insanity display's, perhaps in human history. When it is all said and done, the Democratic Party will go down alongside the most political and socially destructive groups/governments to ever have power.
We are witnessing true insanity.

They were unable to get anything off the ships for those 8 days (or still now), so it made no difference. The articles that came out were just straw men.

LOL - oh yeah, that Trump tax audit the prevented Trump from releasing his taxes, how's that going?
I am sure Donald never lied about that and we should be seeing those taxes soon.

I think we should allow hostile foreign governments to use Facebook to spread racist propaganda and misinformation to American voters, too. We must protect Putin's right to free speech and ensure that the identities of political advertisers peddling fake news remain shrouded in secrecy! You're crazy if you disagree!

Whatever tax reform plan they may try to bring up for a vote has to be bounced off of Trump's recent tax returns.
They need to show his actual returns and what they would have been with the new plan.

He's scheduling the release of his taxes to coincide with the repeal of Obamacare. It should happen any day now. They've got the votes. As soon as that Senator gets out of the hospital.
