It is entirely the fault of Democrats. You guys wrote it and passed it. You own it. I hope Republicans enforce it down to the last letter of the law. After all, Trump said he stood for enforcing the law. Well, let's do it. Let's finally "find out what's in it."
Prediction: Democrats will always blame Republicans for their policy failures.
A Pig Man Tale:
A wife buys a trailer to hitch to the family truck so that her mom can ride along on a road trip (it's a comfy enough trailer, don't worry), much to the chagrin of her husband. Several miles down the road, the family hears a bit of rattling in the back. Upon pulling over and giving a closer inspection, the family determines that a few screws around the hitch need to be tightened, and the trailer wheels could stand to be inflated more. Grandma is nervous. "What!?!" snarls the husband, "Now you expect me to buy a toolbox and an air pump, too? No. You wanted this thing and now we're just gonna see how it holds up. Get back into the trailer, Agnes." The family then peels out into the great unknown, Grandma in toe.
You are advocating playing games with people's lives to make a petty (and silly!) point, Gary. The Trump administration is now in charge of managing the ACA. They own some of it, too. That's how governing works. And now, because of Trump's outrageous rhetoric and the lies his administration told leading up to the TrumpCare collapse (e.g., Pence: Medicaid expansion led to a cutback in aid for the disabled in Ohio, Price: more people will be covered AFTER we cut hundreds of billions in Medicaid and insurance subsidies), nobody with an ounce of common sense will trust them to manage the ACA in good faith.
We already know what's in it. Democrats have put forward a trove of potential improvements to the ACA. Will the Trump administration or congressional republicans take any of them into consideration? Of course not. Because they WANT it to fail. They WANT people to suffer. Anything for those sweet liberal tears.
