I think we can sum things up by saying that Republicans keep winning elections despite of (or because of) investigations into Trump.
And Trump still has vocal, loyal supporters.
There is a big geographical divide in the country.
And Republicans are very spread out while Democrats are concentrated in fewer areas but probably outnumber Republicans on the whole.
I don't see liberals moving out the countryside any time soon.
What has to happen for Democrats is - Republicans gain power, make bad policy decisions and create Republican voter apathy.
There are a lot of people in red districts receiving medicaid and ACA healthcare subsidies right now that their congressmen have voted to take away.
A lot of women in those districts who quietly use planned parenthood services for health checks and birth control that their Congressmen are taking away.
And no policy is going to bring back coal mining and manufacturing jobs that the free market is replacing with other sources and technology.
Republican politicians in Washington are not going to do anything to help their small town constituents.
They are mostly mid to low income people. The tax cuts proposed don't help lower income people.
