President is a felon. Live with it. Go with that.
I'll agree campaign finance felonies are weak sauce, but he's a felon, for sure. Does that mean he can't vote anymore, if convicted?
Campaign Finance felonies are weak sauce but ONLY compared to the other things he is facing -- obstruction of justice, bank fraud, money laundering, CONSPIRACY TO DEFRAUD THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Even the emoluments clause violation is perhaps worse depending on the severity of the charges. We start small and get more serious over time.
BUT, there are two types of campaign finance law violations...an innocent mistake, and willful deceit. The latter is a felony and rightfully so, and it is the kind (two charges) that Trump committed.
A felony is defined as a "serious" crime, usually punishable by at least a year in prison.
These campaign finance laws were put into place to keep rich people and corrupt people from buying elections...to create transparency. It is not "Armageddon" as was suggested that liberals believe, BUT it is still a felony (TWO felonies).
It is news. It is a big deal to have a US President in office who has very likely committed two felonies.
Is a felony bigger than "high crimes and misdemeanors"? I say yes. Only spin says no.
