Mueller keeps running into dead ends. The Assange/Manafort story fell apart. He went afterJerome Corsi which also failed. So he goes back to Cohen, and when he finds nothing else, he always files perjury charges.

First off, Tiny did lie publicly. He repeatedly told the American people that he had nothing to do with Russia. Those who trusted that Tiny had put all Russia deals behind him before the Iowa caucus were duped and voted for him thinking that he wasn't being influenced by the Kremlin. Secondly, you don't know if Tiny lied to Mueller. Remember that he submitted a sworn affidavit to the special council which dealt with questions of Russian collusion. If Tiny's sworn affidavit proclaimed that the Trump tower deal was dead in January of 2016 then Tiny has committed perjury.

In particular, I haven't yet seen anything to convince me that DJT's defeat in 2020 is likely--much less a lock. Where does he lose 35 (or however many it is) electoral votes? I certainly think that Ohio, for instance, will again vote for Trump (or at least against Flagpole); what other Trump states are showing *solid* evidence that they would flip in 2020?

if you project the popular vote for the house at midterms onto the electoral college map, Trump loses WI, MI, PA. Which would cost Trump the electoral college and the presidency.

But my point is projected into the future - to say 'if it is 2019 and it looks like the Rs will lose the senate and WH.' We're not there yet.

So how do we know that Cohen lied to Congress, but he is now telling the truth? He might be just telling what Mueller wants to hear so that he could get a lighter sentence. After all, he is a serial liar, isn't he? Why do you believe him all of a sudden?

We already knew that there was a plan to build Trump Tower in Moscow, and it did not go through. There is nothing new here.

To a simpleton it won’t make sense but I’ll try to help. When you start to see plea agreements it’s a strong sign that the investigator already has the answers. Mueller already knew the facts when he spoke to Cohen. Cohen lied because he simply didn’t want to assume Mueller knew everything, so he thought it was worth a try. Mueller took him down the rabbit hole and once he squeezed everything he could out of Cohen he exposed his lies. It’s called getting leverage. Chess player types know how do this by getting several moves ahead, often without the opponent perceiving. Marbles player types like Cohen and Trump have no clue. Trump even worse because his ego will ensure he hangs on to his lies until the very end and the consequences are that much worse.
