Anyone over the age of 20 should realize why Gallup is used when comparing polls today vs 20, 30, 40 years ago. It was the only one in the game for generations. It is what it is. I just provide the numbers. Y’all can interpret it misinterpret at your leisure.
There’s also a vast difference between popularity, electability, and the results on Election Day. Hence popular presidents losing or unpopular presidents winning. Happens all the time.
Bush Sr was likely the most qualified President we ever had and Clinton was a long shot just to win the Democratic nomination and had a number of sexual assault or sexual misconduct accusers....sound familiar?
Bush Sr was supposed to be a shoe-in....but the economy tanked and he never fully recovered even though his popularity was I think around 50+ % come Election Day. You can thank Ross Perot.
